Some Facts about the RNLI

The RNLI relies on public donations & legacies; it is not government funded.

On average 22 people are saved every day.

3,478 rescue craft launches between January & June 2014: 37% of these in darkness.

86% of people drowned round the UK coastline are male  (more than cycling accidents)

On one evening in August 2014 at Polzeath, North Cornwall the lifeguard team rescued 32 people in 90 minutes.

Our new all weather lifeboat centre in Poole enables us to build our own lifeboats.  This  saves RNLI £3 Million EACH YEAR
